Computer controlled three axes a CNC lathe machine shapes the optic of the lens. This is the Hi tech machine where John Fowler uses natural diamond. Natural Diamond gives best surface finishing to the lenses. This machine is mounted on Dunlop pads to absorb vibration & get the best surface finishing.
Use of air bearing spindles further helps in minimizing vibrations during the machining process which furthermore ensures the superior surface finish and clarity. |

At John Fowler we stringently adhere to the international standard. The lenses are kept at maintained conditions i.e. temperature, pressure, humidity while polishing operation is carried out.
With unique R & D tumble polishing, John Fowler has achieved best surface finish with highest resolution. |

Haptic pull strength equipment is exclusively designed by JFOPL. The equipment is designed to give 100,000 strokes to the haptic of the lens to check the parameters laid down as per ISO 11979. The unique test equipment ensures that haptic of the IOL is having best haptic and meets all the requirement.

All the polished lenses are cleaned and checked for all parameters under laminar hood, checked under microscope & cleaned ultrasonically.

The sterility testing is done as per IP & USP.
The sterilization process conforms to EN-554 and EN-550 and is CE certified. |

The lenses are passed through quality assurance and other inspection tests. The lenses are then ultrasonically cleaned and packed under laminar hood i.e. class 100 workstations situated in class 10,000 area.

No biological growth on the lenses is observed while hydrating since entire work is carried under laminar hood of class 100 workstations. This ensures an absolutely bio-burden free manufacturing environment which is very much necessary during hydration process.
Optical blocking eliminates the common manufacturing problems associated with blocking:
a. Prism error b. Edge thickness c. Centre thickness variations
John Fowler foldable lenses are packed in specially imported lens bottles – made from Borosilicate material (Borosilicate material is immune to the solvents and also restricts the bacterial growth).
The caps used to cover these bottles are specially manufactured with Teflon mining which ensures the tightness during the steam sterilization process. |
