John Fowler Ocular Lenses Pvt. Ltd. (JFOLPL) was incorporated in the State of Maharashtra, India in November 1995. The chairman Dr. B. R. Barwale’s vision behind starting JFOPL was to make available the most superior quality lens to the visually affected segment of the society. He strived to prove that an Indian company can compete globally even on the quality aspects of an IOL.

Awards :
Our chairman Dr. B.R. Barwale - originally a farmer has been conferred with the following prestigious awards, namely:
- World Food Prize - 1998 for enhancement of world food supply.
- Named Honorary Life Member of the Federation of International Seedsman (FIS) - 1996.
- Padma Bhushan - for his distinguished services of high order in the field of trade and economic activity.
- Honorary degree of doctor of science was conferred by the Governor of Tamil Nadu on March 14th, 2002.
